Axel Thoms Lebensrettungseinrichtungen GmbH – Inclined Escape Chute for evacuation of non-mobile persons
The inclined Escape Chute is the origin of Escape Chutes.
Amongst others, its application is relevant in scenarios in which additionally to the evacuation to ground level, a horizontal distance to the access point has to be achieved.
In other words, in scenarios where the users also need to move as far away as possible from the source of danger.
Furthermore, obstacles can be passed. The users slide to the ground in a controlled descent at an angle of approx. 45°.
The inclined Escape Chutes do not require to be directed at a 90° angle away from the building, but can be used in a variable directions.
For the evacuation of non-mobile persons (intensive care patients, unconscious persons or others) the inclined Escape Chute is particularly advantageous.
The integration is done with site-specific designed and custom made steel construction frames, analogue to the vertical spiral Escape Chutes.
The inclined Escape Chutes can be deployed with pre-installed guide ropes to enable autonomous self-evacuation.
